Orion is looking for a Job Developer.
In this job, you will engage individuals in their pathway to employment. A successful job developer will deliver personalized support to each job seeker as well as support the business needs of employer partners.
Orion supports a wide array of individuals with barriers to employment. This includes individuals with disabilities and other barriers such as justice involvement, addiction history and homelessness. As a Job Developer, you will be able to support each individual to succeed through gaining employment.
A part of this position is networking and engaging businesses to create opportunities. Our Job Developers are constantly interfacing with the business community to understand the unique culture of each setting in order to make great job matches.
You will meet with participants in our program to hone their goals and support them to obtain employment and retain employment. This will include individual work, running groups, and working collaboratively with our employment services and manufacturing teams.
You will provide overall case management for individuals on your caseload including reporting, development of annual plans / goals, and daily case notes regarding activities. You will use the computer for job search as well as to maintain case files in Orion’s case management system.
Requirements
Preferred Requirements / Qualifications:
- Orion Industries is a Drug-Free workplace. Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug test which includes THC
- Must have valid driver’s license and personally insured vehicle
- Ability to pass Orion's driving abstract requirement to allow for transportation of clients
- Possess or acquire a first aid/CPR certification when course is offered by Orion
- Adhere to Orion's cell phone reimbursement policy, which requires a smart phone
- Education or experience performing job development activities with individuals with disabilities
- Strong history of business relations
- High proficiency in job seeking skills
- Knowledge of disabilities and their impact on functioning and employment
- Knowledge of job analysis, local job market and hiring incentives
- Willing to maintain flexible work schedule
- Excellent customer service skills - ability to relate and communicate well with all stakeholders
- Excellent ability to communicate in English - both verbally and in writing
- Ability to analyze, coordinate and synthesize information and reach sound conclusions
- Strong computer literacy - able to use Word, Excel, and the internet
- Present a positive, professional image in demeanor and dress
- Ability to organize individual work tasks and outcomes and meet deadlines

- Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material
- Frequent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship

- Frequent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions
- Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds
