Job Posting for Behavioral Coordinator at Orleans Southwest
The WonderKids Summer Enrichment Program is a 5-week Outdoor Adventure Camp for OSSU students currently in grades K-6. This camp will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30am-3:00pm from July 8-August 9, 2024. This year, our camp will be based in Craftsbury on the property of Sterling College.
The Behavioral Site Coordinator will collaborate with the WonderKids Regional Management Team and the WonderKids Administrative, Health and Safety, and Enrichment Coordinators to ensure that staff understand and are able to provide the necessary behavioral supports so that all children in the program may be successful.
Responsibilities:
*Work with the Behavior Manager to create site-specific behavior plans and empower the staff to follow them
*Train the site staff to help support the students’ needs
*Communicate with all parties to ensure behavior and safety plans are being implemented correctly to the benefit of the students
*Be present on site to assist with behavior management
*Work with (collaborate, communicate, delegate to, and receive instructions from) the Site Administrative, Health and Safety, and Enrichment Coordinators
Duties:
*Reviewing registration information and preparing informational sheets for staff
*On-site observation and support of both staff and students, including offering staff breaks, debriefing with campers and/or staff, and building trust among staff and campers
*Implementing support systems, and helping to improve systems through observation and reporting with the Enrichment Manager
*On-site program support, assisting teaching artists and helping the campers engage in the programs
*Planning for implementation of the supports in collaboration with OSSU and Regional Management
*Family communication regarding behavior and support strategies
*Participating in job and program evaluation
