This is a Full time position working night shift as a Lab Aide at Oro Valley Hospital.
Position Purpose
Performs procedures for culturing and preparation for microbiology testing. Collects and labels all specimens requiring testing in the clinical laboratory. Performs order entry of tests as necessary. Ensures that specimens are routed to appropriate areas for testing. Assists technologist in performance of laboratory work and customers with information regarding laboratory testing.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education: Required: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Experience: Required: One year previous phlebotomy experience in a health care setting OR student externship at a Northwest Healthcare lab
Skills: Ability to read, communicate, and document effectively through oral, written, or electronic means. Phlebotomy, medical terminology, computer experience, and excellent service skills. Demonstrates the constant ability to prioritize and respond promptly to a changing workload.
Licenses/Certifications: "Required:
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS
Skilled Nursing Unit: Fingerprint Clearance Card"
