Position Summary The Accounting Associate assists the team and support divisions and respective Controller in completing the month-end close. Reconciles the balance sheet accounts and resolves open items. Prepares and monitors budgets in support of the business group objective. He/she is responsible for supporting the coordination of the financial and management accounting and reporting activities, internal and external auditing, budgeting, cost, financial analysis, and governmental reporting activities while ensuring the company’s accounting records fairly and accurately reflect the position of Orora Business Service Center, related divisions, and subsidiaries. Works on special projects and backs up the accounting department as needed.

Location: Tempe, AZ. (Local/Remote role)
FSLA: Non exempt
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the completion of month end close for assigned divisions/areas which includes all general ledger entries and year end closings.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reconciliation packages.
- Assists with preparation and coordination of audit requests.
- Completes journal entries including uploading into the system and supporting the preparation and coordination of completion.
- Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
- Coordinates the identification and compilation of information to provide accurate and timely reports to management and other appropriate internal organizations.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Records inventory cycle count adjustments and cost adjustments.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or working toward degree
- 1 year related experience preferred
- Intermediate Excel experience
- SAP knowledge preferred
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Accounting and financial principals
- General accounting/math skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail skills; deadline-oriented
- Ability to Identify accounting problems and come up with possible solutions
- Experience working on accounts receivable, and accounts payable problem accounts preferred
