Director of Business Development - Flexible Packaging


Summary of Role and How You’ll Fit In

This senior level position assumes ownership of all strategic and tactical issues relating to the sales, marketing and business development of flexible packaging for the $ 200 million global Landsberg Engineered Packaging Solutions (EPS) business in alignment with the OPS Strategic Plan. As the Director, you will assume direct overall leadership for the domestic and overseas sourcing of flexible packaging and work closely with the Regional Vice Presidents, Landsberg Sales Leaders, EPS Team, and Landsberg Sales Representatives to ensure alignment with their objectives. You will have direct access over existing supplier relationships in China and be responsible for growing the supply chain for all flexible packaging globally.

Key Responsibilities


  • Ensures that Safety is the number one priority
  • Prepares and drives the EPS Market Sales growth and action plans related to domestic and overseas sourcing of flexible packaging.
  • Ensures that all Landsberg market areas have the resources to develop & leverage the existing customer relationships on a global basis to ensure Landsberg provides the “Total Packaging Solution.”
  • Establishes and maintains EPS Best Practice relative to all sales and technical sales processes.
  • Develops and manages a robust list of suppliers, both domestic and overseas, for flexible packaging.
  • Working with procurement, may develop vendor/supplier relationships, including contract negotiation and compliance requirements.
  • Ensures that the EPS business achieves the financial expectations as per the budget.
  • Develops sales forecasts to assist organization in financial and inventory planning
  • Identifies and develops sustainable solutions for flexible packaging that will ensure Orora is the leader is sustainable packaging
  • The ability to train, develop and motivate distribution sales representatives to seek, recognize and execute on primary packaging opportunities within their customer base.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • 7 years experience in a Technical Sales & Packaging Engineering environment
    • Extensive primary packaging knowledge in food and healthcare
    • Experience identifying and developing flexible packaging sources in globally…specifically China
    • 5-10 years leadership experience in the flexible packaging industry
    • Extensive knowledge of packaging materials, equipment and systems.

    • Proven ability to develop and executive results-driven strategies that are aligned with business goals and objectives.
    • Strong project management skills to allow for timely planning, executing and reporting on multiple projects at the same time.
    • Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the company.
    • Ability to meet deadlines; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.
    • Ability to travel globally to identify flexible packaging innovations and suppliers, with focus on sustainability, that will give Orora a competitive advantage
