Medical Assistant, Clinical Team, OPA/Anchorage, Full-Time or Part-Time
Orthopedic Physicians Alaska seeks a highly skilled, dedicated and professional Medical Assistant, to join our rapidly growing and dynamic team. Pay Scale: $16.50 to $29.00 DOE
This position works with our Orthopedic Injury (non-emergent) Walk in Clinic, where Medical Assistants are exposed to a breadth of experience. This position requires independent thinking and decision making, and works closely with tenured orthopedic PAs and a team or orthopedic surgeons.

Representative duties
? Assist providers with patient care within the care-team model
? Room patients, take patient vitals and document PHI
? Assist in administrative areas including surgery scheduling and scanning
? Maintain appointment flow and organization
? Answer patient calls and follow up with patients
? Perform environmental tasks and prepare for next day clinic
Knowledge and skill requirements
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Professional, personable and caring, and able to help patients feel at ease
? Able to understand medical charts and diagnoses and coding for billing purposes
? Able to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressure
? Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a variety of patient care teams
? Skill in operating a personal computer using a variety of software applications and EHR
- One (1) year of clinical experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CMA certification plus two (2) years clinical experience OR
- LPN certification plus two (2) years clinical experience
