Solar Mechanical Foreman
ORTIZ USA is excited to welcome a new Mechanical Inspector to our growing US solar construction team. This project is the first of many US projects for Ortiz's parent company Grupo Ortiz. Responsibilities:
· Communicate ORTIZ USA management’s expectations effectively with contractors and operations team, and local jurisdictions to ensure a smooth and professional experience.
· Coordinate members of the mechanical team to ensure quality work is being preformed by subcontractors on behalf of ORTIZ USA.
· Assist with maintenance of new solar systems
· Perform Site Inspections for Solar only projects
· Comfortable taking measurements and levels for quality assurance purposes.
· Prepare completed solar systems for final inspection
· Meet with building inspectors for post-installation final inspections
· Record technical corrections for our solar crews and electrician
Required Skills:
· Experience in structure assembly and pile driving in solar plants.
· Valid Drivers license
· Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
· OSHA 10 or 30
· Ability to climb stairs and two-story ladders, walk on roofs, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and/or carry equipment that may be in excess of 50 pounds, and operate a motor vehicle
· Open electrical panels & junction boxes so the inspector can observe inside
- Maintaining the safety of themselves and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions, promptly reporting and/or correcting all hazards or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to Branch Manager on all safety issues
- Take notes for corrections and notify Site Management of any issues or updates
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Years of industrial solar field inspections experience
- Preferred 1 years of experience from relatable field
- Minimum licensing requirement to legally perform the job descriptions in each market
- Familiarity with mechanical plans and field layouts
- Strong interpersonal and human relations
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
