Job Title: MVR/TAX Clerk– Treasurer’s Office
Job Location: County Courthouse 717 Kansas Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451
Education Level: High-School Diploma required, minimum 2-year college degree preferred
Reports to: County Treasurer
Overview:
The MVR/TAX Clerk of the Treasurer’s Office assists the County Treasurer in daily operations. This position must deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee adherence to Treasurer’s Office practices, policies, processes, and statutory requirements
- Accept responsibility for the management of cash-handling and monetary transactions
- Manage call-in, walk-in, and email customers and inquiries simultaneously
- Provide and communicate accurate personal property and real estate tax information
- Perform various personal property and real-estate tax-related transactions and serve as the main resource for other staff
- Problem solving and decision making capabilities
- High volume clerical and data entry tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Treasurer
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- 2-year College Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 1 years supervisory experience
- Government administration preferred
- Computer software and hardware skills, Microsoft Office Suite preferred with strong Excel skills
- Office equipment experience; printer, fax, 10-key calculator
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Accurate cash-handling, balancing, and reporting

Pay: From $14.75 per hour
