Summary:
Scrum Masters are servant leaders and coaches for an Agile Team. They help educate the team in Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe, ensuring that the agreed Agile process is followed. They also help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver high-quality products, services, and solutions
- Coaching, training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices and guide development teams to higher scrum maturity
- Coordinate sprints, retrospectives, and daily stand ups and scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes
- Removing impediments and obstacles for the scrum team, and resolving conflicts that occur
- Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration, and ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes, including collaboration with other scrum masters
- Creates, manages, and ensures accuracy of team reporting, including epic management and forecasting, sprint burndowns, etc. and preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders
- Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing, and release notes
- Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders)
- Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items
- Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements, and implement changes effectively
- Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials
- Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it
- All other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business or a relevant field preferred
- Certified scrum master, SAFe preferred
Basic Requirements:
- Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions
- Leadership and management experience
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent people and project management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organizational change management skills
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
- Working with Azure DevOps
- Financial industry knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with software development
