The Role:
Recruiting for a Global Leader in High End Luxury Fashion, who sets itself apart from other retailers with a truly unique brand identity and looking to recruit a Shipping Manager. Reporting to the Head of Transportation, the Shipping Manager will manage the import actives for all the stores North America across the omnichannel business. This role will be based out the Atlanta warehouse.
Location: New York OR Atlanta
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensures all shipping from production and factories to North America is executed correctly, efficiently, and according to the CBP regulations.
- Partners with Head of Transportation to manage all import activities including break-bulk and customs brokerage to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
- Provide regular cost information to Head of transportation and Finance Team and partner with Head of Transportation to ensure budget management.
- Maintain relationships with North America custom and related government department to well understand and meet government regulation requirement.
- Drives continuous improvement in process flows for import as well as with the Warehouse and Dispatch work streams.
- Creates, builds and maintains excellent relationships with key suppliers both internal and external.
- Ensure standardized processes for the handling of all inbound goods from time of loading, including U.S. Customs/FDA clearance and timely delivery to the Atlanta Warehouse.
- Establish transparent tracking methods with status updates available upon request, including Management Reports and performance indices.
- Partner with Head of Transportation for alignment on priority statuses and maintain a sense of urgency with flexibility as needed. Promptly escalate any issues to Management to address accordingly.
- Support with any ad hoc projected on an on-needed basis.
- Liaise with customs brokers to provide correct import documentation for entry.
- Manage relationships with forwarders, brokers, and other external partners to ensure compliance and adherence to contracts.
- Monitor business partners and processes to ensure compliance with CTPAT protocols and SOPS.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Previous experience with ERP system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working in a global organization.
- Experience working in a dynamic, face paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, within a team, and cross-functionally, especially with Accounting Department.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to quickly prioritize workload.
- Strong communication skills and people development skills.
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
