You can influence and steer others to overcome roadblocks and get things done Summary: Otis has an exciting opportunity to join our U.S. Western Region Human Resources (HR) team, reporting directly to the regional HR Director. The position will liaison with the HR centers of excellence (COEs): Total Rewards, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR operations (myHR), along with the other HRBPs to provide and develop world class HR programs, processes, and strategic initiatives that drive long term business results. You will be a trusted advisor to colleagues and business leaders, including several executives, regarding HR policies and drive processes to optimize employee engagement and productivity. The successful candidate will be a forward-looking, motivated to drive business results, and a change agent. What you’ll do: Activities will include: Establish and maintain an understanding of the multiple functional groups that you will support including finance, field operations, safety, digital technology, communications, marketing & sales, and human resources. Develop relationships with the key functional leaders (business partners) and understand their initiatives, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Be a key steward of talent. Identify high potential talent and cultivate an environment promoting colleague development, cultural transformation, and succession planning. Facilitate and manage key HR programs such as merit and bonus review, performance connections, talent review, and pulse surveys Provide leaders and colleagues with coaching, consultation, and guidance on effective conflict resolution, performance management, colleague development and engagement Consult with legal counsel on performance management cases, ethics inquiries and investigations, and termination recommendations Promote an inclusive and safe work environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and diversity You should have: Experience in coaching employees and managers, facilitating training and developing and implementing HR programs and projects Prior experience supporting a client group >400 employees/>$500M Sales in size in an HR Business Partner capacity; prefer candidates that have supported a dispersed workforce across multiple locations; prior experience supporting a service or sales-oriented business is a plus Solid organizational and project management skills with ability to develop and execute multiple end-to-end programs concurrently and with little oversight Data driven decision maker with ability to mine complex information, draw conclusions independently and present findings in a clear and concise manner Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and build strong partnerships with diverse and cross functional teams Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities on a daily basis and with precision Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field, supplemented by 7 years of relevant experience Master’s degree, supplemented by 5 years of relevant experience Travel This role supports a dispersed employee population; in addition to leveraging collaboration tools and communications/video-conferencing apps, travel is required approximately 30% of the time Location/Working Arrangement: The position is based in Chicago, IL. The location of this role is flexible and there is opportunity for this role to be hybrid (office and remote), but the successful candidate must be able to commute to the office as needed in a major market within the Midwest or Texas.
