What are the responsibilities and job description for the Switchboard Operator position at Ottumwa Regional Health Center?
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Answering calls on the switchboard
- Monitoring and responding to hospital alarms (fire alarm, codes, etc.)
- Overhead paging
- Maintaining on-call schedules and contacting on-call staff
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Accurate data entry skills
- Strong Communication skills
- Strong phone etiquette
- Multi-tasking
- Ability to work independently
EDUCATION
- High school graduate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
- Requires up to 6 months experience dealing with professionals and general public in a service oriented position
- Multi line phone system experience preferred.
