Essential Job Duties/Key Accountabilities
- Assists in the execution of multiple tasks that enhance and support daily production and company initiatives
- Manages and executes all plant projects while working with cross-functional groups to ensure success of the projects
- Manages all actions for first production runs, including raw materials, packaging materials, special requests, scheduling and attend all first production runs
- Manages all sample requests (formal and informal) and coordinates with Sales, Technical Services, and manufacturing counterparts on all sample requests and coordinates sample deliveries as needed
- Integral to all ERP functions - works with Manufacturing and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies, close production runs and address variances
- Lead Month-End Inventory activities
- Perform inventory adjustments and transactions in the D365 inventory system
- Defines the cause of discrepancies and suggest corrective actions to minimize the repetition of occurrences
- Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
- Analyzes changes in inventory and communicates trends to leadership
- Works closely with Continuous Improvement and leadership teams to maintain continuous improvement concepts
- Responsible for the integration of CI methodology and principles with other improvement initiatives such as SQF and Safety
- Works with Continuous Improvement to generate projects to enhance value creation
- Site Level Administrator for Manufacturing Production System (Redzone)
- Site Level Administrator for Manufacturing Training System (Alchemy)
- Assists the functional areas by utilizing excellent process knowledge
- Manages safety activities at the plant working closely with Safety Coordinator
- Involved in Root Cause Analysis for all issues in the plant
- Assists in the standardization of work processes
- Assists in AOP planning
- Assists in identifying, planning and managing CapEx projects
- In absence of Shift Supervisor assumes all applicable duties
- Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF certification. All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and three plus years manufacturing related experience in a lead role, or five plus years in lieu of degree
- Should have knowledge of database software, Excel spreadsheet software and Word processing software
- Manufacturing and process knowledge
- Sound judgement capabilities
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and skills
- Working knowledge of workplace safety and GMP regulations
- Ability to make sound business decisions
- Keen attention to detail
- Written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to evaluate problems, correctly focus the resources and make efficient decisions
- Strong leadership and effective management skills to direct employees in efficient operations
- Effectively perform root cause analysis
- Manufacturing Plant Environment
- Must move/lift up to 50 lbs
