Worship Choir Director
A. Strategic Role Summary:
In collaboration with the pastors, the Worship Choir Director stewards the musical and liturgical gifts of the congregation in a part-time seasonal (September through May, 8-10 hours/month) position providing team-based, musical leadership to nurture, encourage, and strengthen the expression of faith through worship music in ways that are consistent with Lutheran theology and the mission of the congregation.
B. Key Responsibilities:
1) Serve as Choir Director for adult choir; children’s choir negotiable
a. Utilize worship planning resources to select Christian literature appropriate for the worship times when the choir will sing.
b. Recruit, rehearse, and direct the choirs in worship.
c. Recruit and prepare instrumentalists as needed for the choir.
d. Recruit volunteers to assist in maintaining a vocal music library.
2) Provide liturgy and musical leadership for Sunday morning, online, and special services (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, Confirmation, etc.) as determined in consultation with the Music Ministry Team and pastors.
3) Prepare and oversee the choir budget.
4) Coordinate with videographer for recording for on-line worship.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $500.00 per month
