Geobunga, an Outdoor Living Supply company, is looking for a results-driven Retail Sales Associate to work in our store that sells landscape materials to contractors and homeowners. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and ensuring the overall success of our store. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is customer-focused, self-motivated and enjoys working in a team environment.

This position requires someone who is personable, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide excellent customer service by helping them find the products they need and answering their questions.
  • Assess customer needs and provide personalized product recommendations based on their needs.
  • Use your creativity to come up with eye-catching displays and merchandising techniques that showcase our products and encourage customer engagement.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment by performing regular cleaning and tidying duties.
  • Collaborate with your team members to meet sales targets and exceed customer satisfaction goals.
  • Use your persuasive skills to close sales and maximize profitability through add-on sales, cross-selling, and up-selling techniques.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, participating in stock takes, and replenishing shelves as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and trends to ensure that customers are provided with accurate information and personalized advice.
  • Process POS transactions, handle merchandise returns, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to achieving sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis by actively engaging with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly with empathy and professionalism to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Engage assistance of manager when needed.
  • Provide feedback to the management team on customer feedback, sales trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience (not mandatory) in retail sales and cashier, which would be awesome.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Have strong proficiency in English and basic math skills.
  • Showcase a working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Have hands-on experience with POS transactions and familiarity with inventory procedures.
  • Be highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Have an open-minded approach to learning and adapting to new sales techniques and technology.
  • Bring a positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
  • Exhibit a commitment to reliability and consistent attendance.
  • Must be able to commute to location, which is in Honolulu, HI 96813.

Preferred

  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is a plus.

This position works in a retail storefront that sells landscape materials to contractors and homeowners. Sales associates work outdoors in the elements rain or shine. Conditions can be dusty due to the product we sell.
