TITLE: Wholesale Delivery Driver DEPARTMENT: Central Services
STATUS: FT/PT, Truck Driver, Union,Hourly REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure the highest level of service possible to Outpost’s
internal and external customers. Drive Outpost’s truck to transport fresh
foods, products and materials to customer accounts and events. Engage with
customers and merchandise and maintain fresh foods and products to grow sales
and limit losses.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in an environment with
moderate to loud noises including, but not limited to: equipment, machinery, computers,
paging, telephones, and human voices. Regular work near moving mechanical parts
(i.e. truck lift, dock, power equipment). Regular work in wet, humid conditions
and cold/hot climates. Job related travel within Southeast Wisconsin.
Occasional weekend work shifts required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Customer Service
a.
Treat people fairly, consistently, and with
respect.
b.
Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly
service according to established customer service vision and standards.
2. Logistics Department Responsibilities
Deliveries and Truck Maintenance
a.
Prepare and load truck for deliveries. Secure
cargo for transit.
b.
Drive truck to destination. Unload truck and
check in with accounts.
c.
Complete deliveries on schedule.
d.
Follow all traffic laws and drive in a courteous
and professional manner.
e.
Maintain truck logs.
f.
Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to
receive delivery instructions.
g.
Report all damage and broken equipment upon
onset of condition.
h.
Maintain vehicle in a clean, neat and sanitary
condition, wash as needed.
i.
Inspect and maintain truck equipment and
supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
Other
a. Assist
with product ordering and other related paperwork/invoicing.
b. Merchandise
and stock product on-site at accounts and events.
c. Maintain
back stock inventories, itemize and detail all out of date products returned
from accounts.
d. Assist
with light maintenance of Wholesale equipment at Outpost’s wholesale locations.
e. Adjust
to changing conditions to facilitate the delivery of products to customers.
f. Maintain
communication with Wholesale Catering Manager or Coordinator when offsite, as needed.
g. Assist
Wholesale Coordinator when necessary.
3. All Staff Duties
a.
Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as
outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
b.
Keep truck/office orderly and clean.
c.
Maintain a positive attitude.
d.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Wholesale
& Catering Manager or Coordinator.

Outstanding

Must
have a current driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability
to learn and use database software. Experience with Foodtrak a plus.
Previous
retail/ grocery or food products merchandising experience a plus
