The Mgr Operations Area will be part of the GOM Ops Offshore West LU/GN Team and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans. - Ensure safety and environmental integrity are maintained on offshore facilities at all times and lead through visible leadership offshore and at training functions onshore. - Provide leadership and direction to a diverse group of employees and contractors working within the production operation. - Champion LiveSAFE culture with incident and injury free mindset - Be part of the Offshore Safety Leadership Team and practice visible leadership by making frequent trips offshore. - Ensure all incidents and near misses are promptly reported and thoroughly investigated to facilitate communication across the organization - Act as the Operations Section Chief on the Incident Management Team - Facilitate SEHRES meetings as needed (Safety Meetings – Safety, Environment, Health, Risk Engineering, Security) - Motivate, organize, and support the roll-out, training, and implementation of policies and procedures with Continuous Process and Safety Improvement in mind - Ensure existing management system is adhered to and risks are correctly identified and managed. - Identify operational improvements and work through to implementation, including clearly communicating responsibilities for all relevant personnel - Set priorities for offshore operations, drive continuous improvement, and increase productivity while adhering to safety standards. - Manage asset planning schedule to plan and execute work activities in a safe, efficient cost-effective manner. - Serves as subject matter expert (SME) or change agent to support corporate programs and initiatives. - Work with vendors to ensure continual adherence to corporate engineering and safety policies. - Partner with other leaders to ensure consistent career development for employees working offshore. - Main contact from the platform to executive management for any emergency. - Provide technical expertise and mentorship as needed. - Responsible for direct LOE budget, managing and optimizing costs.
Qualifications:
Required: - High School Diploma or GED - Minimum: THUET, T-2 Certificate - Additional: Major Emergency Management - At least ten (10) or more years’ experience in offshore operations with at least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role. - Strong understanding of offshore production operations with background and knowledge of the applicable statutes, rules, ordinances, codes, standards, regulations, and safety management systems for production operations. - Leadership in the areas of safety and environmental performance. - Demonstratable technical expertise and managerial leadership qualities. - Proven track record in improving performance by providing clear direction, defined, and practiced value-based culture, and continuous improvement processes to reduce risk and increase reliability. - Knowledge of the responsibilities of an Issuing / Performing / Authorization Authority within the PTW system for keeping the worksite safe and clean, and ensuring all isolations are performed using the stated isolation procedures - Knowledge of Emergency and Operating Procedures and all relevant regulations; be aware of and adhere to such regulations so as to develop a safe and efficient working environment - Knowledge of HAZOPS, RCFA, KT Analysis, TapRoot - Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills. - Proficient in the use of computers and standard software packages (MS Office, etc.).
