POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting with administrative support for the Jail Division and Support Services Division. The individual is responsible for providing professional customer service to the general public, other employees, inmates, and visitors.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides administrative support for the Jail Division by answering calls and routing incoming calls to appropriate individual or office. Greet jail visitors, determines the purpose of their visit, and then directs them to desired location or notifies appropriate staff. Help maintain the schedules for: visitation, out of county pick-ups, hearings, conference calls, Huber appointments, inmate programming, and video court.
Perform records management duties (scanning, filing, maintaining, auditing) on booked & released files. Review & close out released inmate files according to department policy and procedures. Sort, record, and prepare incoming and outgoing inmate mail and packages.
Assist with the processing of bail bonds, warrants, and receipting inmate fund transactions. Work with Business Office to provide records management duties for the Huber Program by verifying, recording, and scanning agreements and paycheck remittances.
Receive, update, and process inventory for the jail and inmates. Maintain record of jail inventory by logging items taken out of stock, receive deliveries, tag and distribute items, log items received and tagged. Inform Business Services Manager or Accounting Specialist when additional supplies are needed. Notifies Jail supervisors of missing or inaccurate records.
Coordinate with Captains for scheduling uniform fittings. Identify and distribute uniforms, log uniforms ordered/received, maintain an accounting of surplus uniforms and equipment. Assist the Captain with determining the need for uniform replacements for employees.
For Support Services Division answer and assist incoming non-emergency telephone callers or routes calls to appropriate party. Serve as receptionist, greeting visitors, announcing arrival or receives and distributes various department papers, forms and materials.

Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
Two years prior work experience of a similar nature is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to represent the department with excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Skills in time management
- Knowledge of office procedures and ability to use equipment
- Skill in basic math concepts
- Skill in data entry & transcription at a reasonable speed
- Skills in record keeping and filing
- Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds

Inside office work in a Jail and professional office setting. Work environment may periodically become fast paced. Position is uniformed.
