What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector & CMM Operator position at P1 Industries?

We are looking to expand our Quality Team by adding a Quality Inspector who will frequently be using a CMM. The person in this role will work with our precision components machinists and engineers to ensure the utmost quality for our customers. It will include working on the production floor, completing documentation, understanding different customer requirements, and gage calibration. The Quality Inspector role requires extreme attention to detail, an ability to be physically active, and a team-focused approach.
Essential Duties:
- In process and final inspections
- Programming and running of part inspection programs on bridge CMM
- Initiating NCR process for non-conforming parts
- Issuance of CoCs
- Audit of job documentation
- Calibration of shop gages
- Assisting in the collection of data for quality metrics
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to inspect parts using conventional inspection tools and methods
- 2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry (quality assurance role preferred)
- Proficient in CAD (Solidworks a plus)
- Experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines
Desired Requirements:
- Ability to generate solid models to inspect against, such as design of required fixturing to aide in repeat inspection
- Experience with PCDMIS software
- Ability to inspect parts with or without solid models
- Dissect inspection report in a manner that allows for proper adjustments during manufacturing
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing
- Associate’s degree in relevant field
*Off-site training will be required for PCDMIS (CMM software)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
