Division Information
PACCAR's Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
The Role
This position works with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements and contribute to innovative, high-visibility mission critical network solutions. This position is responsible for the testing, deployment, and support of network services used by PACCAR employees, dealers, customers, and shareholders.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Execute department's technical vision and strategy of major aspects of the PACCAR network including WAN/LAN, Wireless/Mobility, and Unified Communications.
- Execute global strategies to implement new technologies based on developed vision.
- Seek out use cases where emerging technology may provide financial benefit or increased productivity. Make recommendations to engineering staff on technology evaluations.
- Work with peers in cross-functional teams globally.
- Lead troubleshooting investigations of network related problems and contribute findings to knowledge base.
- Monitor compliance to PACCAR network standards and recommend publication opportunities to engineering.
- 3rd level support on PACCAR's network infrastructure and services. Work with engineering to ensure service request and incident resolutions align to PACCAR best practices.
- Up to 10% travel.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience working in an enterprise network.
- Experience in enterprise network deployment and maintenance.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switching and wireless solutions. Working knowledge of routing protocols desired.
- Experience resolving connectivity issues including carrier services, VPN connections, hardware failures, etc.
- Experience with network operations and network analysis tools. Packet capture and analysis skills preferred.
- Knowledge of or interest in network design and architecture.
- Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to complete operations and network documentation.
- Experience with Cisco DNAC and Cisco ACI desired.
- Availability to travel up to 10%.
Education
- Cisco Certifications: CCNA or CCNP desired.
- Associate in Arts & Sciences in Computer Science or related degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field desired.
Physical Requirements
This job requires possible ladder use, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling as well as bending and stooping.
