Pace is looking to adopt an enthusiastic and customer centric individual to become a part of our family as a Pace Operations Business Developer. This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Sales.
Duties:
- Work with Outside Account managers and Account Managers to provide support to Legal, Accounting, Sales, Operations, CS, Dispatch, Carrier Relations and IT on communicating new customer on boarding SOPs, contracts, business agreements, requirements and changes.
- Following RFP process outline, reviews, leads, collects necessary and pricing, in order to finalize rates for opportunities.
- Works with and informs SLT / ELT as necessary of cost model standards based on margin guidelines and market capacity i.e. volume, economics, etc.
- Provides daily assistance on quotes for hot shots, route changes, and additional client needs.
- Supports sales team during client meetings (if needed) to provide insight on customer transportation request to determine if requested service falls within goals of 2019 sales plan.
- Coordinates necessary routing needed for RFPs according to customer specs.
- Works with Director of Sales and Corporate Sales Manager on RFP guidelines in order to make sure all information is gathered in order to provide solid proposal to customer.
- Collaborates with Field Operations and Carrier Relations on costs per market, per vehicle and per opportunity.
- Performs post implementation audits to make sure all operating procedures and costs are being followed, ensuring that the opportunity was vetted and quoted properly.
- Provides out of the box solutions for customized logistics needs for customers.
- Reviews and makes recommendations on sales opportunities and current business for efficiencies in operations in order to save money and provide better service to the customer.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by Director of Sales.
Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
- 3 years’ Logistics and Supply Chain experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel required.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present confidently and demonstrate diplomacy in oral and written form via telephone and email.
- Excellent time management skills required.
- True self-starter with high energy and professional demeanor.
- Ability to interact, influence and impact individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks and to meet various deadlines.
- Proficiency with commonly used Microsoft software programs, including Office suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with diverse people.
