What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Manager position at PACE?

Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 per year, plus excellent benefits

I.PROGRAM SUMMARY:

PACE Business Development Center (BDC), established since 1993, offers entrepreneurial training, technical assistance, one-on-one counseling, and access to market and capital, to low and moderate income individuals. We assist entrepreneurs who aspire to start new businesses or existing small business owners who need to improve or expand their operations. The Microloan and Small Business Loan Programs, an essential component of PACE BDC, provides access to capital which is key to start, expand, or strengthen a microenterprise. We also believe that business loans can assist low and moderate income entrepreneurs to build credit, achieve economic self-sufficiency and become successful small business owners and create jobs for their communities. We are a certified CDFI, SBA Microloan, SBA Community Advantage (7a), and California COIN organization.

II.POSITION FUNCTION

Under the direction of and collaboration with PACE BDC Director, the individual will systematically plan, implement, and control the activities to bring prospects in to help achieve BDC's objective. He or she will be managing the department messaging and branding to assist in increasing loan production in units and volume. This in turn, will help with meeting job creation, business plan, and coursework .

The Marketing Manager will lead the marketing team to create content, establish key partnerships, and develop a strategy to implement relevant products or services. They will research competitors and the current market landscape. He or she will keep up with the ongoing business trends within the industry and the community. Overall marketing objective to take the PACE BDC from being LA's best kept secret to the premier center for business entrepreneurship and financing.

The Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Loan Manager to understand the needs of loan counselors. The Marketing Manager will develop training workshops for counselors on the effective utilization of marketing materials. He or she will attend Loan Committee meetings to understand the clients that successfully go through the program. Assist the loan counselors with lead generation and promotion of workshops to attract loan qualified clients.

The Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Training Manager to ensure classes and workshops meet enrollment numbers. Develop relevant workshops that meet business objectives and the needs of the business community.

The Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Administrative Manager to ensure front-line staff are aware of ongoing campaigns or upcoming initiatives to maintain consistent customer experience and expectations. Assist in identifying key gaps and provide feedback for additional training workshops.

The Marketing Manager will develop and improve a set of policy and procedures that will govern the marketing of the program. He or she will be performing and overseeing the day-to-day marketing operation of PACE BDC programs, which shall include outreach, data collection and reports preparation. Additionally, the individual will organize, manage, motivate, and collaborate with all staff members. He or she will act as the representative of the Program and champion the different campaign initiatives.

As a BDC Key Staff, the individual will also work in collaboration with BDC Director and the agency in achieving the mission and goals of PACE Business Development Center.

III.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Report directly to PACE Business Development Center Director
  • Primarily interacts with PACE BDC staff, volunteers, interns, funders, community partners, consultants, PACE staff and loan committee members
  • Supervise 1 – 2 marketing professionals and 1 – 2 support staff

IV.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Supervision

  • Recruit, train and supervise marketing team members, interns and volunteers
  • Conduct periodic performance monitoring and evaluation, and issue disciplinary actions when appropriate
  • Identify and send staff to various outreach function that help promote PACE BDC brand awareness or establish key partnerships

Implementation

  • Outreach, Recruit, and Refer
    • Promotion of workshops and events on “access to capital” and “credit”
    • Attend key meetings and entrepreneurship events to promote the exposure of PACE BDC
    • Establish community partnership to ensure the flows of good risk loan applications
    • Create and distribute marketing materials to promote the Microloan and Small Business Loan Programs
    • Maintain and update BDC website page for Microloan and Small Business Loan Programs
    • Maintain CRM database of clients and prospects
  • Policies & Procedures, Infrastructure
    • Create and write marketing policy and procedure manual
    • Review and recommend platform for lead generation and maintenance
    • Maintain and streamline lead tracking and management
    • Establish and maintain a healthy portfolio of client success stories and testimonials
  • Quality Control and Compliance
    • Ensure the timely, accurate, completion of client success stories delivered to respective parties
    • Maintain ROI reports of different marketing channels
    • Develop monitoring tools to ensure monthly growth targets are met
    • Monitor review sites to ensure marketing meets client expectations, work with BDC Director to ensure client satisfaction and experience are met
    • Research and develop quality control monitoring tool and reports for leads

Sustainability and Growth

    • Build and maintain constructive relationship with community partners to increase PACE BDC brand
    • Assist in promotion of microenterprise and related programs
    • Participate in the strategic planning to develop and market PACE BDC programs
    • Creation and collection of important content to increase brand awareness and customer prospects
    • Collaborate, motivate, and mentor team to effectively sustain the growth of BDC programs and clientexpectations

V.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS:

Qualification and Education

  • Three to five years working experience in banking, finance, credit, marketing or entrepreneurship
  • Bachelor degree in business or marketing; MBA is strongly preferred.

Experience and Skills

  • Ability to make public presentation in a clear, concise, and convincing manner
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working with database or CRM, maintaining website
  • Had worked with low income individual and diverse group of multi-background
  • Effective problem-solving and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working proactively with diverse and inclusive organization
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of local businesses and resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, perform under pressure, flexibility to meet dead lines
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must pass employment background verification.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination that includes drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation and adequate automobile insurance coverage.
