Position Overview:
Assist with all activities necessary to process payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for over 250 employees, including processing of time cards.
- Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to APA policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
· Review time sheets to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies, including processing of vacation and PTO time used.
· Help process payroll garnishments.
· Verify attendance and hours worked, and post information onto designated records.
· May compute and post wages and deductions or prepare paychecks.
· Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and benefit plans.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings and employee recognition events.
· Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
· Keep all payroll information confidential, maintaining privacy for each and every employee.
Experience Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in an organization with 100 employees.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Diligence and keen attention to detail.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy.
· Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, NetSuite ERP (or other Tier 1 ERP system), and ADP (or other Tier 1 HRIS system).
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to interact with a variety of people at all organizational levels.
Pay/Benefits:
