Located 16 miles south west of Chicago, Bedford Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 580 at the 2010 census. Bedford Park consists of a small residential area and vast amounts of heavy industry sprawling to the east and a small amount to the west.
The plant was built in 1987, manufactures portion cups lids, coffee lids, and cold cup lids, and has approximately 250 employees.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Continuous Improvement Manager in the rollout of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) and train all Line Operators and Maintenance employees on the PEPS methodology.
- Assist onsite Continuous Improvement Manager auditing the facility against PEPS to ensure growth and sustainability. Assist Training Coordinator to train all associates in the PEPS methodology.
- Identify all PEPS training gaps in the facility; coordinate and execute on training gaps.
- Lead PEPS processes across multiple departments; serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support training within a department.
- Conduct regular audits of lines to ensure waste reduction.
- Write projects that ensure substantial cost savings utilizing Lean Tools.
- Attend daily Tier Meetings to report to leadership training and CI opportunities within the facility.
- Schedule and Lead all Kaizen activities in the facility.
- Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing PEPS methodology.
- Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Provide training for hourly teammates and ensure that the employees understand and comprehend the lean projects. Teach others to lead improvement efforts, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership.
- Has knowledge in the areas of: 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, PDCA or equivalent, A3 Problem Solving.
- Ensure adherence to Lean Methodology, including Kaizen, Standard Work, Daily Management, Layered Audit Process and Business Plan development to eliminate waste.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to Business, Engineering or Packaging Industry or 3 years of lean experience in various, complex manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
- Experience with Lean Processes, Automation and SAP strongly preferred.
- Experience Leading Kaizen events strongly preferred.
- Project management skills are required; as they will often be required to work on several improvement projects simultaneously.
- Must have Microsoft Office experience with advanced Excel Skills.
