Description:
- The registered nurse is responsible for assisting in the accurate and appropriate assessment of the patient pre and post-op as and managing patient complications by applying the experience and education of a registered nurse.
- We refer to our registered nurses and medical assistants as "Clinical Specialists" (CS's), because they are not "assistants".
- The registered nurse will act as a Clinical Specialist 1
- All CSs work under Physician supervision.
- 100% outpatient position -- no hospital work, no call.
- May be required to train at other clinical positions in the clinic to help cross-cover as needed.

CS1 Responsibilities
- The CS1s are responsible for patient pre-procedure prep, including: verifying the Medical Hx, medications, placing IV’s, obtaining baseline vitals and pedal pulses, preparing the groin for access, and meticulously documenting all information in our EMR.
- Responsible for recovering the patient post-procedure, including: monitoring vital signs and access site, assuring hemostasis, obtaining pulses, discharging the patient home, again documenting all information meticulously in our EMR, and assessing inventory to verify that clinical supplies related to the procedures are at par levels.
- The CS1 position requires a strong grasp of medical knowledge, confidence, attention to detail, equanimity (cool under pressure), and excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with both patients and family.
- Must be able to work in cooperation with the rest of the Procedure Team including the Proceduralist Physician, CRNAs, and other Clinical Specialists.
Requirements:
- 50/50 travel between our Corpus Christi and Victoria facilities will be required
- Ideal candidates should have experience with arterial/vascular work
- Spanish fluency Preffered
- Ideal candidates should have experience with arterial/vascular work in the Procedure Suite/Cath lab/OR. At minimum, acute care setting experience is required -- e.g. ICU, ER.
- 4-6 week training period, some travel may be required for this. This, along with our faster pace and higher performance standards is why we pay so much more than other comparable jobs
- A customer service-oriented attitude, charisma, and excellent bedside manner.
- Meticulous documentation in our EMR is required, so strong English language skills are important.

- Initial 60-day Compatibility Period (CP) at a slightly reduced pay rate and no benefits. Upon completion of this CP, pay goes to 100% and full benefits kick-in.
