Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Human Resource Generalist Provide Human Resource generalist support at assigned location or provides specialized in-depth support in one or more of the following areas: employment/EEO, training, compensation, FMLA Administration, Workers’ Compensation, benefits, or Human Resource Information Systems. Essential Responsibilities: Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave. Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason. Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices. Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s). Counsel employees on benefit plan options and employee eligibility. Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files. Process personnel actions into the HRIS system. Prepare and/or supervise preparation of complex statistical reports and summaries. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources and at least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Good written communication skills; working knowledge of integrated software applications (Workday, ADP, Deltek); organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
