What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Designer, Architecture position at Page Southerland Page, Inc.?
Position Summary:
Design leadership on major projects. Providing creative input and maintaining the design direction throughout all phases of a project. Collaborate on and lead business development and marketing efforts.
Essential Duties:
- Leadership role in creative process of project design.
- Collaborate with Design Principal and project team to advance project design; facilitate/lead Design Charrettes and client presentations as appropriate.
- Win new work by participating in business development activities, project pursuits and interviews.
- Be a champion within the project team of the project design goals and design priorities.
- Be responsible, in collaboration with Design Principal and Project Director and other team members for completion of design deliverables / design work plan.
- Develop a compelling vision for the project.
- Be a leader and advocate for EYP's TOTAL IMPACT design philosophy, develop familiarity with architectural, technical, engineering and sustainable design requirements of projects and use to facilitate integrated design solutions.
- Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design
- Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
- Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions
- Present design work using graphic, oral and other media to clients and regulatory authorities.
- Lead/participate in project Peer and Design Reviews within the firm
- Lead/collaborate on preparation of preliminary design work for business development and marketing purposes, with Sector Leaders, Project Executive and other team members.
- Make compelling design presentations to potential clients to assist the firm in winning new commissions
- Prepare and support Project Strategize documentation and filing as needed.
- Be a leading advocate for design and creativity in all aspects of the firm's work.
- Professional Degree in Architecture or related field
- 7 - 18 years as a designer, including some technical and design management experience
- Professional license required
- LEED accreditation preferred
- Proven ability to conceptualize, develop and implement design on a variety of projects.
- Recognition for design talent: have participated in projects that have won design recognition
- Proven design leadership skills
- Strong graphic skills and computer graphic skills
