POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Counselor will provide support to the marketing director. Under limited supervision, receives walk-in/call-in visitors and uses software systems to identify and contact leads. Effectively explains and demonstrates to prospective residents and their families the benefits of residing and receiving care at the community. Communicates sales and contractual information and closes contract sales to maintain and improve occupancy levels. Solicits assistance of community staff to promote and explain community services, practices, policies, pricing, and other information necessary to close the sale.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
- Research competitors to stay current with similar products or services on the market.
- Work with the marketing departments to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new customers and keep current ones.
- Continuously staying up to date on trends, new ideas and opportunities for company campaigns.
- Connect with leads and obtain additional information on personal residential and care needs.
- Encourages prospective residents and families to make wait list deposits.
- Maintains long term contact with prospects to encourage continued familiarity.
- Meets established goals regarding contacts and tours to achieve desired sales goals.
- Cultivate leads with current residents through positive interaction and interest in activities and concerns.
- Follow-up with resident referrals as identified.
- Explains and promotes the Resident Referral Program to current residents.
- Assists in identifying innovative events and methods to increase visitation of targeted groups.
- Assists in planning, sponsoring, organizing, and executing special events to inform and attract referrals and prospects to visit community.
- Presents and demonstrates the value and benefits of the community for its residents as appropriate to stimulate interest and sales.
- Understands needs of potential residents to highlight community features that will satisfy them.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to identify and maintain key relationships with community and professional sources.
- Requests assistance of marketing assistant when appropriate to coordinate needs relating to logistics of new resident moves including such things as transference of keys, furniture move-in coordination, unit preparation, new resident orientation and welcoming, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience required; leasing, hospitality, senior living sales support experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative skills to accept and incorporate ideas into strategies.
- Ability to recognize trends and stay ahead of them.
- Problem solver and excellent communicator.
- Proven success with organization, independent time management, and attention to detail.
- Must have strong understanding of the English language, sufficient to read and write.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Walk/Stand/Sit – must be able to continuously perform duties that incorporate walking, standing, or sitting.
- Environment Condition – must be able to perform work inside the community.
- Lift – frequently 0-25 pounds
- Carry - frequently 0-25 pounds
- Push - frequently 0-25 pounds
- Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available
- Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses
- Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
- Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret medical and administration information.
