This Opportunity:
Palladium's Natural Capital Business (NCB) team is seeking an
intern to provide support for research, business development, portfolio management
focused on work with mining companies and agribusinesses.
Location:
The position is based in Palladium's
Washington D.C. office.

- This internship will report to a Senior Associate within the NCB
team.
Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:
About the
Team: Palladium's Natural Capital
Business team implements projects with the private sector to catalyze inclusive
growth and development, thus achieving positive business, social and
environmental outcomes. The NCB team is an emerging global business line at Palladium
that collaborates with all three Palladium headquarters offices, implementing
innovative approaches to diversify Palladium's business beyond foreign aid. The
NCB team engages with private companies, especially in food, agriculture, and mining
to implement projects working towards achieving positive business, social and
environmental outcomes (particularly nature-based solutions, climate smart
agriculture, community resilience and economic development).
About the
Role: This position will be exposed to a variety of
different assignments in fast-paced environments, including business
development, client work, and thought leadership. They will work with a diverse
team across Palladium's global network to contribute to defining a potential
client's needs and the value proposition of implementing inclusive growth
strategies. They will gain exposure to a diverse set of clients, project roles,
and industries to help organizations all over the world implement inclusive
growth strategies at scale.
Sample Tasks: subject to team needs at time of
start
Business Development
- Conducting research on potential clients with newly released ESG/impact reports
- Preparing a concept note to approach a potential client (includes research, proposing a strategy & collaborating with our administrative team)
Client Work
- Conducting relevant research
- Contributing to client-ready presentations
Thought Leadership
- Preparing presentations for internal knowledge sharing (lunch & learns, team calls, etc.)
- Research & drafting of external blog posts
Key
Competencies Required:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Palladium will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position
- Prior work or research experience in economic growth, market systems, competitiveness and/ or enabling environments in an international context
- Proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus
