What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health Temporary Fulltime position at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center?
Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.
Temporary Assignment: 13 weeks
Premium Hourly Rate: $55/hr
Shift Differentials: Not Eligible
Fulltime: Non-Benefit Eligible
- Hiring for 40-hr 2nd shift Monday-Friday / 8 hr shifts no weekends
- Hiring for 32-hour Weekend Shift / 16 hour shifts Sat/Sun 7a-11p
The RN has a significant role in direct patient care and is a principle element in assuring adherence to prescribed treatment, patient well-being, and providing a safe and therapeutic environment. The Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients.
- Knowledge of milieu management.
- Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
Education: Associate Degree In Nursing and Current CPR or BLS certification.
Licensure: Licensure in Florida as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
Preferred experience: 6 months nursing experience with a passion for psychiatric nursing and children.
Additional Requirements: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
Successful completion of Handle With Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
