Summary
Assists the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in the operation and management of a retail locatng center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and/or employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivers ACE (Amazing Customer Experience) to all internal and external customers.

- Enthusiastically receives donations from donor utilizing GRATIS (Greet, Receipt, Assist, Thank, Invite Back, Sort)
- Sorts, prices, and stocks hardline donations for sale according to established expectations.
- Sorts, tags, and stocks softline donations for sale according to established expectations.
- Accurately utilizes point-of-sale system to complete sale of merchandise. Requests customers to round-up change for maximum mission impact.
- Accurately records donations, production of merchandise and specified tasks.
- Exceeds established production goals corresponding to role in retail location.
- Maintains clean work environment.
- Demonstrates a mastery of cashier, softline production, and donor services / hardline production roles through evaluation.
- Obtains and maintains forklift and walk-behind stacker certification.
- Obtains and maintains first-aid / CPR / BBP certification.
- Trains team members as they are on boarded. Ensures that a positive example is set for all team members.
- Recognizes when team members need coaching and provides immediate coaching when applicable.
- Issue refunds and resolves customer concerns.
- Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to a member of store management, appropriate District Manager, and/or Asset Protection department.
- Complies with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all work areas; maintains same to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
- Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of/and at the direction of the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager; see Supervisory Responsibilities below.
- Performs all administrative and clerical duties including but not limited to completing opening/closing duties, making bank deposits and securing the building at the direction of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager in accordance with established guidelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of/and at the direction of the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; addressing concerns and reporting circumstances to the Retail Store Manager or Retail Assistant Store Manager.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret memos and operating and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present standard information in one‐on‐one situations to customers and other employees of the organization
using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness. Ability to add/subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables. Ability to operate a telephone, multi key register, typewriter, computer, fax machine and material handling equipment. Must be able to obtain and maintain Forklift/Stacker and CPR/First Aid certifications. Ability to perform data entry and key boarding. Ability to instruct, or verify the work of others.
Education and Experience
High School diplomas or general education degree (GED) and one year of retail experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to talk or hear. The employee frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the day) is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; push or pull. The employee is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to sit, kneel, stoop, throw, turn and twist body. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, color vision and depth perception. Some local travel required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to dust and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to the extreme cold, extreme heat and wet or humid conditions.
