Custom Truck Mechanic Automotive Customization

At Palmetto , we move multi-million dollar yachts! 

Our tech team is responsible for the building and customization of our impressive fleet of Trucks and Trailers as well as the maintenance once they are released to service!  

We use the latest in Fleet Management software systems (Fleetio) to provide transparency from the Drivers to Technicians to Senior Management.

Our Fleet consist of: 

2022-2024 Ram 5500's and Late model custom boat trailers. 

Our trucks are always less than two years old to minimize major maintenance requirements.

WE ARE NOT OLD SCHOOL! We do not use paper!  Use of iPads and other smart devices is imperative! 

Our standard is PERFECTION! Anything less is unacceptable! 

Qualifications

• Passion and love for automotive
• Competency with Fleetio Maintenance Software
• Professional experience level with Ipads
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  
• Trailer Brake System Repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Trailer Electrical Lighting Repair (Basic 7 Pin) : 1 year (Preferred)
• Trailer Suspension Repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Truck Oil/Filter/ Routine Maintenance : 1 year (Preferred)
• Basic OBD 2 Diagnosis
  
• Experience in a 5s environment 

Starting rate is based on experience and skill level

This job is at our Manning, SC facility. 

Skill Based Pay Rate Reviews, 1 Month, 6 months, Annually 

Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of auto / trailer MECHANICAL repair experience.

• Experience in automotive customization
• Automotive 12v electrical (lights, speakers, upfitting)
• Body builder / Up-fit Experience

Job Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age
• Able to pass all pre-employment screens
• Be authorized to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED or higher
  

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a trailer.
• Oil change / Fuel filter change
• Suspension repair
• Basic routine maintenance 

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  
• 10 burpees physical test on site visit

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• ASE certified preferred
• 3 years minimum automotive mechanical experience

Experience:
