    Summary:
    Operates, maintains, and services a variety of equipment used for the printing and mailing needs of the District.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Receives and reviews incoming job orders. Schedules printing and mailings. Estimates timelines.
    • Receives, reviews and converts material transferred from internet in web/html format to formats that are print-ready.
    • Produces high quality printed materials. Prints by adjusting and setting for paper path, multiple sheet detectors, adjust paper receiver area for uniform stacking, paper pile height, feeder and paper path setup.
    • Operate equipment in the print room and the mailroom, including but not limited to bindery, wrapping, cutting, stacking, sorting, folding, and postage machines.
    • Sets machine for desired function and other paper size settings. Resolves paper jams. Finish work including, stapling, binding and collating of materials, padding tablets, and NCR forms. Operate postage machine and other machinery related to processing of U.S. Mail.
    • Maintain files, records of work done, and jobs received. Price out jobs as assigned.
    • Performs cleaning, preventative maintenance and minor repairs of relevant equipment.
    • Confers with staff regarding paper stock, duplicating materials, and equipment and replacement parts.
    • Drive a district vehicle over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and delivering intra district mail.
    • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

    Qualifications:
    • Knowledge and Skills:
      • The operation and care of duplicating and other machines required for duplication and production of paper materials. The operation of sorters, folders, and postage machines required for preparation of district mailings. The position requires a working knowledge of the document publishing equipment used by the District for high volume printing. Requires working knowledge of copy, binding, and peripheral equipment used for making copies and assembling completed materials. Requires sufficient organizational skills to meet customer requests on a timely basis. Requires sufficient math/numerical skills to document counts, measurements, totals, and portions. Requires sufficient writing skills to document and describe work products. Requires sufficient human relation skills to work cooperatively with staff and customers.
    • Abilities:
      • Requires the ability to carry out the essential functions of the position. Work independently without supervision. Must be able to Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Must be able to review and interpret printing instructions in a way that meets the user's needs. Must know and explain policies and procedures. Must be able to prioritize and schedule work in order to meet deadlines. Communication skills must be sufficient to interact and discuss technical information with co-workers. Must be able to learn designated mail route, including stops and traffic hazards. Must be able to recognize malfunctions in equipment and take appropriate action. Must be able to operate all equipment to obtain a high standard of quality and volume production. Must be able to maintain equipment in satisfactory working condition. Must be able to estimate material requirements and costs. Must be able to keep accurate records and maintain files.

    Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • One (1) year of customer service and relevant experience.

    Licenses and Certificates:
    • Requires a valid Driver's License
    • District Clerical Screening test certificate.
    • Typing Certificate of at least 40 WPM.

    Additional Requirement:
    • Must pass an approved pre-placement medical assessment.

    Salary and Terms of Service:
    Salary range (C5) $22.63 - $27.43 per hour, nine (9) steps, eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week (M-F), 12 months per year. Holidays, sick leave and vacation benefits. Prepaid family dental, medical, and vision insurance, prepaid life insurance plan for employee only.
