Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager provides direction to subordinate staff, assigning and scheduling work and monitoring completion. Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager uses established policies and procedures and administers department and company policies. The primary role is to manage Emergency Readiness Assurance processes and Technical Planning Basis program for the Emergency Management Department, by Supervising/Managing exempt staff who perform similar work for a single function, program, product, or technical job specialty. May manage supervisors and non-exempt or bargaining unit staff. May manage a program or project with matrixed staff. Establishes, prioritizes, and manages activities associated with the Readiness Assurance, Technical Planning Basis and the Emergency Management Planning Section to ensure efficient and timely completion of assigned duties, with minimal to no rework.
The Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager provides the framework for development, coordination, control, and direction of all emergency planning, preparedness, readiness assurance activities. The Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager establishes requirements and an approach to effectively integrate planning, preparedness, activities for a comprehensive, all-hazards emergency management concept. Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager coordinates with the Operations and Response section manager and the Operations Monitoring Section Manager to ensure that the Pantex Emergency Response Organization is ready to respond promptly, efficiently, and effectively, through the readiness assurance, technical planning basis and planning process, to any All-Hazards emergencies involving Pantex facilities, activities, or operations as well as integrating applicable policies and requirements.
Oversees all aspects of the emergency readiness assurance and technical planning basis program in all planning, to include: implementing and documenting the technical planning bases. Interfaces with federal, State of Texas, and local agencies and organizations on a routine basis to integrate and coordinate planning activities. The Emergency Planning Supervisor/Manager coordinates the integration of other program elements with other Emergency Management Section Managers and appropriate site organizations and supervises emergency management personnel in the performance of their duties, and effectively communicates orally and written with internal/external partners and customers to include surrounding mutual-Aid partners in the Pantex Emergency Planning Zone.
Ensures that tasks and projects are completed on schedule and within budget, scope, and performance standards. Maintains a response position on the ERO and response team for qualification and proficiency needs.

Dependent upon the work scope of the applicant, Education and Experience requirements for DOE O 426.2 covered positions are intended to assure that personnel have the knowledge or skills to operate in their position in a safe and reliable manner.
NOTE 2: Staff with high school diplomas may be considered on an exceptional basis if they have more years of relevant experience. Typically, each year of college education is equal to two years of experience.
