The Role
As a Pantheon Senior Counsel of Privacy and Compliance, you are an experienced architect of privacy and compliance matters inside of fast growing technology companies. You are drawn to the world of cutting edge technology and the intellectual property that fuels its growth.
Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, you will support the building of a world-class legal department that powers a category defining website operations platform. Cool Things You’ll Do
Privacy Governance Program
- Analyze new laws, regulations, enforcement and litigation trends to determine potential adverse impact on Pantheon’s business operations with respect to key areas of responsibility, and present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Demonstrate measurable maturity of our privacy program that is uniquely configured to Pantheon’s business and continual progress towards privacy by design
- Develop and disseminate privacy compliance training and privacy policy updates and drive an accountability framework with the necessary enablement for risk areas in Engineering (including Information Security), Marketing, People, Product, and Sales
- Ensure proper alignment of policies and practices with the Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework, and any required enrollment in the program
- Ensure data processing agreements are updated to include new Standard Contractual Clauses, as necessary
Commercial Support and Systems
- Implement and update OneTrust modules and continue to measure the impact and success of the tool against privacy governance
- Negotiate data processing agreements (including US state addendums) with critical customers, and update, develop and launch playbooks, guidelines and training for reviewing and negotiating such agreements to the commercial legal team
- Ensure that new and existing contracts and organizational policies are in compliance with laws as they continue to develop and/or change and organizational policies
Strategic Management and Collaboration
- Partner with InfoSec on vendor management initiatives, and conduct audits of subprocessors to ensure compliance with GDPR
- Recommend insurance coverage and support analysis in light of Pantheon’s risks and privacy program maturity
- Actively participate in strategic legal team projects where no task is too large or too small
- Raise early awareness of risks and non-compliance issues to enterprise risk committee and management with recommended solutions
- Conduct special projects as assigned

Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a legal role, with relevant experience at a reputable firm and/or at a technology services company in privacy
- Proven ability to launch privacy compliance or compliance-related programs with OneTrust
- A model for steward leadership with a clear awareness of strengths and development objectives
- Proven negotiation skills gained through years of successfully undertaking a commercial contracts role
- Skilled mentor to team members
- Comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization in a proactive fashion
- Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills
- Proactive approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, and solving problems
