The Role
Pantheon is looking for a PMO Manager to help lead the project management function within our engineering division. This leader has demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring and developing program and project managers to ensure project delivery excellence. The position requires the ability to establish high performance processes and practices throughout the organization, ensure organizational alignment on key programs/projects, and drive planning and execution of key strategic projects from inception to customer success.
You will partner with stakeholders and other leaders to drive and execute the vision for key initiatives and integrations across disparate departments from sales and marketing to finance. You must have experience in leading planning, resource management, project lifecycles, and workflows in a dynamic product organization with a fast-moving startup culture. You thrive when given the chance to design systems and processes that facilitate efficient collaboration and execution. You have experience collecting product and technical requirements for complex projects that span multiple teams. You understand the benefits of moving quickly and enjoy teaming up to solve hard problems. You are a harmonizer who can drive alignment across functions.

- Hire, manage, mentor, and develop project and program managers within and beyond your team. Inspire the team through thoughtful leadership. Develop career paths, identify opportunities for growth and define plans for achieving measurable goals.
- Gain a deep understanding of how Pantheon collaborates on cross-functional initiatives and improve the operating model for the organization by building rigor and predictability. Look for ways to improve processes to meet business needs while coaching teams to do the same.
- Communicate the status of projects and programs to all levels of stakeholders and leadership - celebrating achievements and creating visibility around risks and issues.
- Be a trusted partner for executive management to ensure program success. Manage program performance vs. targets, define and communicate key success metrics that help us understand how well initiatives and programs are meeting business objectives.
- Influence decision making and problem solving across projects, programs and teams.
- Assess alignment of goals, timelines and resource plans across key programs/projects and with business objectives; propose options to reconcile any gaps or conflicts, and facilitate solutions.
- Help define strategy, developing OKRs, then breaking them down into trackable work streams (projects or initiatives, roadmap) to deliver on the quarterly plan.
- Be an agile champion within Pantheon - developing and elevating scrum processes across engineering and with our partners.
What you Bring to the Table
- Exceptional leader with 12 years experience in technology, preferably in a SaaS/PaaS space.
- Technical Program Management (8 years) – demonstrated experience with leading and driving large complex multi-functional technical programs at deeply technical software companies
- Team Management (5 years) – experience leading a PMO team, including all aspects of people management and development. Excel at motivating and inspiring people to do their best work
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed management environment.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Anticipate and remove obstacles that can slow down or prevent teams from delivering on project goals with a sense of urgency.
- Understanding of typical product life cycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment without being dogmatic. Knowledge of agile-aligned methodologies.
- Professional Scrum certification - including CSM, PSM, PSPO, CSPO, etc.
