Responsibilities

This position requires a solid work ethic and the ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

This position has the following specific responsibilities:

-Understand and maintain water treatment regulations and requirements

  • Maintain chemistry of solutions
  • Clean filter press
  • Handle sludge and dump into dumpster for hazardous waste removal
  • Inspect all gages and monitors for waste water treatment
  • Change monitoring charts for waste water treatment system

-Analyze tanks and cleaners daily

-At least three times per week, make acid additions to plating lines

-Maintain organized documentation of testing results

-Work with office staff to purchase chemicals, metals, etc. as necessary

-Notify supervisor of any abnormal or unusual conditions

-Perform other duties as necessary

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Employee is required to bend, climb and twist. Usage of hands to grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls is required. This position requires squatting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing and sitting. The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds is necessary.

The ambient conditions of the waste water treatment area and plating lines are moderate and noise levels are moderate. Working in this environment includes dust, fumes, cold, heat and humidity from the chemical solutions. Required to wear appropriate PPE when in waste water treatment and in plating area.

Minimum Qualifications

This position must have a high school diploma or one year experience in a water treatment facility, preferably in the plating system. This position requires strong organizational skills and a background in math and chemistry.
