Job Posting for Manager, Buying and Planning at Parade
This role is based in the NYC area. We are on a hybrid model, meaning this person will come to our office 2x a week in SoHo, NYC.
The Manager, Buying and Planning will plan, create, and forecast merchandise buys based on historical buys, recurring buys and current inventory levels. You will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of developing specific merchandise plans to meet key business objectives and financial goals, ensuring profitability and aligning product offering with consumer purchasing trends. Reporting to the CFO, The Manager, Buying and Planning has overall responsibility for managing the open-to-buy, sales, margin, and inventory plans, and reporting on the key metrics as part of brand level integrated business planning activities. This role also creates and applies inventory policies to maintain the desired level of inventory as well as ensuring the availability of inventory.
What You’ll Do:
Develop, execute and communicate strategic top-down financial plans and strategies that support product, marketing and financial objectives, by channel
Drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory and bottom line profitability
Manage the financial success by meeting sales, gross margin and inventory turn goals
Partner with Finance, Product, and Data teams to own the Open-to-Buy process end-to-end
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by channel and department
Develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities
Analyze actual sales results to plan and drive recaps to total company.
Forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for the open to buy
Set choice targets
Create and manage inventory projections at the platform-category level, in coordination with Production.
Plan and manage inventory rebalancing across online and wholesale channels.
Manage product end of life process
Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory
What You’ll Bring:
6 years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain, finance, or other related area
Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining inventory planning policies and processes
Understanding of inventory planning and management techniques in a multi-FC network
Experience in reviewing inventory planning KPIs and developing plans to address issues
Leadership experience in approving changes to inventory planning parameters
Experience in inventory planning continuous improvement efforts
Have proven influencing and negotiating skills both internally and externally
Possess strong organizational skills, the ability to perform in a command and control role under pressure and manage priorities
Have a global mindset while understanding and considering local needs
Possess courage to take ownership of their decisions and guide and push back in a diplomatic manner despite being faced with dissenting points of view
Be analytical, data-driven and have strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrate ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with business stakeholders
Drive initiatives and tactics required to meet and exceed goals
Move easily between strategic and tactical modes
Experience with toolio and/ or other planning softwares
