Engineer injection molding

Paradigm is searching for anInjection Molding Tooling Engineer to support our client a leaderin custom injection molding.

The Injection Molding Tooling Engineerplays a pivotal role in coordinating activities to ensure theefficient building and procurement of mold tooling via externalresources.

This position involves maintaining existing toolingcoordinating repairs or modifications and ensuring accuratedocumentation of all toolingrelated activities.

Additionally youwill serve as a supervisor and mentor to Tooling Department staffproviding technical expertise andleadership.

Asan Injection Molding Tooling Engineer youwill :

• Evaluatetooling orders and examine part drawings tool drawings and 3Dmodels to determine tool requirements including special materialsor items needed forprocurement.
• Collaboratewith customers for design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimizetooling designs.
• Review requisitionsfor items required for tooling maintenance and initiate procurementprocesses.
• Contact vendors to obtaintooling quotes and monitor tooling status expediting orders whennecessary to meet productiontimelines.
• Provide technicalexpertise on moldmaking to both customers and internal stakeholderssupporting sales and engineering with quoting part design and tooldesign.
• Maintain comprehensiverecords of tooling procurement status updates and dispositioninformation.
• Process requests fortool repairs determining whether repairs will be conducted inhouseor outsourced to externalvendors.
• Adhere to internalprocesses guidelines policies and Quality System standards toensure compliance.
• Collaborate withother departments and personnel to fulfill customer requirementseffectively.
• Select vendors andprocure tooling and fixtures within established procurementguidelines.
• Offer feedback on partdesign to support design for manufacturabilityinitiatives.
• Determine staffingrequirements conduct interviews and select candidates for vacantpositions.
• Conduct evaluations ofemployee performance and implement corrective actions asnecessary.
• Facilitate performanceimprovement through coaching mentoring and training of leadoperator staff.
• Interpret andenforce company policies and safety regulations to maintain a safeand compliant workenvironment.
• Promote adherence tothe quality system and ensure staff members are educated andcompliant with quality systemrequirements.

Requirements

Ourskills and wish list experienceincludes :

• Bachelorsdegree in Plastics Technology Mechanical Engineering or equivalentworkexperience.
• Minimumof five years of experience in tool design or toolmaking.
• Intermediatecomputer skills including proficiency in 3D CAD MRP and wordprocessingapplications.
• Extensiveknowledge of injection molding tooling design and tool makingprocesses.
• Strongteam player with excellent communication conflict resolution andproblemsolvingskills.
• Proficient in time management multitasking and prioritization ofmultipleprojects
