POSITION OVERVIEW

Paradigm Professional Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Pharmacy Technician to provide services at the  Santa Clara Health Center in Espanola, NM.

WORK SCHEDULE

8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must be from an accredited program/college/university

License/Registration: Must have a current valid unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification from any state within the United States, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years of pharmacy services in a hospital department of pharmacy setting, ambulatory health clinic, medical rehabilitation facilities, commercial/retail drug store (i.e. Walgreens, CVS, etc.)

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR

Health Requirements: Furnish documentation that reflects immunity for the indicated vaccine preventable diseases through documented disease, vaccination history, serology results, and/or any documented episodes of adverse events after vaccination. Any contractor’s employee who is allergic to acomponent of a vaccine and/or have a history of any for severe reaction to a vaccine is not required to receive that vaccine with documented proof of contraindication to the vaccination. The following are additional requirements for specific vaccine preventable diseases.

• Measles
• Mumps
• Rubella
• Hepatitis B
• Varicella
•  Influenza or written statement justifying religious exemption from influenza vaccination.
  Note: unvaccinated contract staff with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear an IHS-provided
  surgical or similar mask when working in patient care areas or other areas frequented by patients in an IHS
  facility during the influenza season.
• Pertussis
  

Read, write, and speak English well enough and enunciate with sufficient clarity to effectively communicate with students and other staff members.

Sufficient typing and computer skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Pharmacy Technician Services in Pharmacy and COVID-19 vaccination clinics of
  the Santa Clara Health Center or vaccination sites.
• Perform direct patient care services and assist the pharmacists with direct care/services to neonatal, pediatric,
  adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
• Greeting patients and answering phones
• Assist with processing of prescriptions
• Assist with filling of prescriptions
• Assist with inventory management of medications
• Assisting with running prescriptions to patients during curbside delivery
• Assist the pharmacy department support COVID 19 vaccine clinics where assigned. Assignments may be any of the
  following:
  • Checking patient paperwork
  • Vaccinating patients, if contractor has immunization certification
• Assist with other administrative support duties:
  • Ordering, inventory, expiration date management of medications
  • Ordering, inventory management of COVID vaccines
  • Preparing inventory reports of vaccines
  • Anticipating supply needs of vaccines
  • Preparing work area
  • Providing other support services as directed by the pharmacist.

Have the ability to work with interpreters for patients who may have limited understanding of the
English language and who may speak only their native language and be sensitive to their cultural indigenous
religions and beliefs.
