SUMMARY:
Must be able to cut and join various types of metals with precision from technical drawings, visual, and verbal instruction. Fabricate components by analyzing requirements, welding stainless steel parts in a food manufacturing facility. Performing basic PM and mechanical tasks used in the production facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.
- Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements; work with MRO buyer to order supplies and gases.
- Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.
- Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
- Documents actions by completing records in eMaint CMMS.
- Maintains safe work environment by following procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Perform PM tasks that are provided through eMaint CMMS.
- Must follow all GMPs, SOPs and maintain a current understanding of the regulation and requirements of the industry applicable government agencies.
- Train new hires.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years welding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sanitary welding experience in food industry preferred.
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Must have the ability to use hand tools and trade-type tools; good motor coordination necessary.
- Proven record of ability to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to make sensitive adjustments in equipment.
- Must be team-oriented with the ability to work with others and without direct supervision.
- Good communication skills.
