What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager (Frontend) position at parcelLab?

We are looking for a full-time Engineering Manager to join our global Engineering team. You and your team will support us in delivering innovative features for pre-checkout, delivery, and returns experiences for over 550 brands worldwide. Your role is pivotal in building the next generation user experience of our product suite.

Our ideal candidate has strong experience in web-based frontend development, modern frontend technologies and frameworks, and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centric software solutions.
Ideally, you are located in the vicinity of our Munich HQ. However, we are also accepting applications for a remote position (willingness to occasionally travel for business required).
\n- Take a proactive role in building and leading a team of engineers
- Represent the team in collaboration with other managers and leaders
- Cultivate technical expertise and career paths within the team
- Spearhead technical delivery and be accountable for it. Work with the team on strategy and implementation
- Hold regular 1:1 meetings with engineers
- Develop and deploy production code, and create software tools and processes that improve engineering productivity.
- Demonstrated experience in remotely enabling, managing, coaching, leading, and mentoring software engineers to deliver high-quality software quickly
- Strong experience in modern front-end development and at least two years of experience in either back-end or full-stack development
- Knowledge of modern frameworks and tools, such as ReactJS, TailwindCSS, ESLint, accessibility, automated testing (E2E/Unit), and TypeScript
- Passion for developing, supporting, and growing people in an agile environment
- Familiarity with developing and delivering production software and software tools that improve engineering productivity
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and helping them understand the trade-offs of different product and technical decisions
- Passion for open source and its best practices as a way to increase performance and alignment between engineering teams
