What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Tech (CST) position at Park Nicollet Clinic?
Position Summary:
The Surgical Technologist practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating, critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring.
Education/Experience:
* Post-secondary education preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:
* Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs: CST (https://nbstsa.org/examinations-cst.html) or NCCT (https://www.ncctinc.com/General/VerifyCertification.aspx) at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 months of hire.
* Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
* Demonstrated knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
* Currently validated CPR skills preferred.
