Job Description
An opportunity exists for a Load Planner in a dynamic wine & spirits importing and wholesale operation. Our Load Planner will coordinate load assignments, handle administrative paperwork, and computer entry duties. The main objective is to verify that the customer’s needs are met in a prompt and professional manner. This position will be responsible for route planning, maintaining accurate route records, maintaining a record of all company vehicles, and ensuring customer satisfaction with order fulfillment.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations
Key duties:
- Establish working knowledge and develop professional relationships with our drivers and retail teams.
- Plan and coordinate driver load plans for our drivers.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments as needed.
- Act as a liaison between our retail team members, drivers, and final customers.
- Ensure drivers arrive on time for pickup and delivery appointments.
- Manage carrier performance including on time performance, mileage, and billing
- Manage all issues related to service and meeting the customer’s performance expectations
- Review and allocate credit card usage for each driver
- Review time cards and key in hours for drivers
- Maintain up to date records for each driver and vehicle
- Gather and record proof of deliveries for invoicing and state reporting purposes.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- 2 years of customer service or load planning experience is required
- Dispatch, telesales, and/or load planning experience is preferred
- Must have a high level of self motivation, excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, and ability to multitask.
- Exercise great attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others in a team.
- Strong time-management, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY PLEASE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
