Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the creation, management, and training of the Irrigation Specialists, Water Manager, and Irrigation Technicians
Work closely with Branch Manager, Director of Field Operations, Account Manager, and Irrigation Technicians to achieve Branch irrigation penetration and gross margin goals
Responsible for training Irrigation Technicians, Account Managers, and Account Managers on Irrigation Billing Processes including Irrigation Billing Templates, Field Work Order PMI Forms, etc.
Ensure that detailed irrigation evaluations on new jobs are completed within 90 days
Meet with Branch Managers, Account Managers, and Enhancement Managers as necessary to develop strategies, procedures, or policies that will generate revenue, increase efficiency, and/or increase our overall quality of services
Identify properties with potential irrigation projects
Inspect, build scope, propose, and execute
Provide knowledge, training, and resources to all Irrigation Specialists, Water Managers, and Irrigation Technicians regarding quality of work, production standards, and expectations
Responsible for irrigation material selection and procurement for the Maintenance Company
Responsible for irrigation tool selection and procurement for the Maintenance Company
Work with Branches and assist in the activation/creation of new smart controller accounts, training of staff on new accounts, and resolving IT-related issues
Ensure staff are utilizing the smart controller’s features to ensure optimum programming efficiency and appropriate landscape health
Define required tools, materials, and equipment at branch, specialist, and technician levels • Develop irrigation vehicle layout including material stock levels and manage inventories quarterly to confirm compliance
Negotiate pricing on special projects via rebates, bulk procurement, specials or other opportunities
Work with Branch Managers on identifying properties with irrigation concerns, issues, water penalties, mismanaged programming, or other concerns
Rectify with Irrigation Specialists, Water Managers, and Irrigation Technicians as needed
Participate in new product demos and provide quality feedback and recommendations to the company
Provide industry-related news such as water provider updates, rebates, rate increases, and other pertinent news to appropriate staff
Monitor and update Irrigation Billing Template forms related to new products and pricing changes when needed
Develop and manage procedures to have oversight and access to all smart controller accounts, including admin rights and the removal and addition of staff access
Develop and revise, as necessary, all irrigation forms including PMI Form, Assessment Form and evaluation formats
Train and manage all Irrigation Specialists and Water Managers to identify, propose and execute high-level irrigation projects while under the Company’s codes of conduct and expected revenue and profit margins
Actively involved with onboarding and training of new employees for the maintenance company
Identify irrigation material issues and defects and provide concerns to appropriate staff to minimize impact on the Company
Develop and maintain close relationships with manufacturers regarding training opportunities, new product demos, and other irrigation opportunities
Develop and maintain close relationships with industry contacts such as water provider personnel, Health department, other client vendors
Maintain high-level relationships with Irrigation Associations, the California Landscape Contractors Association, and other industry-related organizations
Identify and assist employees with special certifications, licenses, classes, or other opportunities that are either required (Maxicom/4S) or will promote water management services and central control knowledge
Assist in writing articles, attending events, and committee involvement for industry trade organizations
Instruct internal training programs, as requested, with the assistance of the Irrigation Training and Development Manager
Qualifications/Skills
Maintain quality relationships with industry partners including associations, manufacturers, distributors, and clients
Maintain quality relationships with water providers, wholesalers, representatives, and board members of each
Pursue industry training beyond irrigation and water management
Always maintain the following certifications: Recycled Water Site Supervisor, Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, Certified Irrigation Contractor, Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper and others as determined by their supervisor
The Water Resource Manager is a leadership position responsible for all aspects of the Irrigation and Water Management operations to ensure customer satisfaction, employee training and profitability. They will develop, train, coach, motivate and mentor a high-performance team to meet Company goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
