What are the responsibilities and job description for the NCE Magnet Pgm Specialist position at Parkview Health?
Summary
Under the direction of the Director of the Nursing Center of Excellence and Magnet, coordinates, assists with the implementation of programs and initiatives that support compliance with the ANCC program accreditations (i.e. Magnet®, Pathways®, PTAP®). Supports the initiative to attain and maintain the American Nurses Association's model for nursing excellence for all PH entities including providing oversight and expertise in the support of the health system. Supports excellence throughout nursing and promotes engagement through shared governance.
Aligns work with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Participates in strategic planning for nursing. Supports the patient education systems both written and electronic for PH system. Focuses on quality, cost effective outcomes for nursing, patients, and the organization. Leads the Patient education advisory committee and support the governance process for all patient education at Parkview Health.
Education
Must have an BSN from accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Must complete MSN within 4 years of hire to continue in the position.
Licensure/Certification
Must have a valid Indiana RN license. Professional nursing certification preferred.
Experience
Must have minimum of five years experience in direct patient care in a hospital setting. Experience in quality & data analytics with support of nursing excellence & Magnet initiatives is desirable.
Other Qualifications
Demonstrates effective leadership skills. Ability to facilitate teams and displays strong problem solving, strategic thinking, initiative and creativity. Must be computer literate including application of Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel. Demonstrates high level written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Must have a strong understanding of educational tools and adult learning principles. Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
