What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Parkway?
Parkway Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Human Resources team. This individual will manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of payroll. The Human Resources Generalist will also supervise and coordinate activities that include but are not limited to, processing time records, compiling payroll and benefits reports, maintaining payroll and benefit control records, and calculating payrolls. Additional responsibilities include recruitment and retention, event coordination, and benefits.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum three years of payroll processing experience using an automated processing system and processing payroll taxes, multi-state, Federal, FICA, and other local taxes
- Additional experience in Payroll/HRIS Systems
- At least two years of college-level coursework and five years of related experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or Finance
- Experience with UKG Pro HRIS
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process multiple payrolls, review timesheets and reports within HRIS for accuracy and compliance before, during and after payroll processing.
- Responsible for issuing paychecks, manual checks, stop payments, direct deposit advices and any other corrections or adjustments to payroll account as needed.
- Provide reports to Finance and Accounting for funding payroll account and other activities after completing payroll.
- Create and reconcile payroll tax files bi-weekly, quarterly and yearly.
- Implement improvements to processes, procedures and work flow to create efficiencies and maintain that automation is transmitting accurately.
- Complete monthly reconciliation of payroll and payroll taxes for G/L Department for invoicing to Parkway Corporation, subsidiaries and managed accounts.
- Update and maintain the standard operating procedures and manual policies for payroll and benefits.
- Optimize HRIS configuration and develop and enhance current/new reports as needed.
- Complete and upload data as required to agencies such as, but not limited to, State Unemployment agencies, Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics.
- Assist in company audits.

- Complete and submit government reports such as EEO-1, Vets 100 and ACA Reporting.
- Attracts and screens candidates to fill open positions.
- Responds to inquiries regarding Parkway policies, procedures, and programs.
- Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.
- Assists in the development, deployment, and maintenance of recruitment and retention plan.
- Assists in the creation of dashboards and reports that can be used to help senior leadership make strategic talent decisions.
- Plan and coordinate company events including attendee reservations, securing venues, event logistics, and communications
