Parmenter is a fully integrated real estate investment, management, and development firm. We are searching for an Experienced Senior Property Accountant that is ready to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and review financial statements of the company and its subsidiaries
- Provide leadership and guidance to Accounting Department staff
- Assist in developing policies, procedures and internal controls and ensuring they are met.
- Assist in the monthly close process by preparing and or reviewing
- Journal entries on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Close folders and financials on a quarterly basis.
- Sales tax returns on a monthly/annual basis
- Management fees on a monthly basis
- Compliance on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
- Identify and research financial reporting and tax related issues.
- Be able to read, interpret and abstract loan and lease documents.
- Participate in due diligence projects for potential acquisitions.
- Participate in compliance with local, state, & federal tax reporting.
- Ad hoc projects and financial analysis.
- Participate and assist in the review of the quarterly external financial reports.
- Participate in internal audit to provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Must be computer savvy and be able to identify, learn and implement new software programs to improve efficiency.
- Assist in the training, supervision, development and evaluation of the department.
- Work closely with the management team to help achieve goals.

Requirements:
This position is ideally suited for a well organized individual who can work independently and is detailed oriented. The individual must be able to cope and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
- Must have an Accounting Bachelor’s degree. Masters degree and CPA preferred.
- Four years of work experience with working knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Commercial Real Estate experience preferred.
- Experience with Yardi system not required but preferred.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be an entrepreneurial “take‐charge” individual, who is results oriented with strong business acumen.
- Must have a “whatever it takes” attitude.
