Primary Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing a workforce development program serving youth ages 14-24 to successfully gain and maintain employment.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate workforce development and job readiness activities with PIDF administrative staff, program staff, external agencies and others to accomplish project goals and objectives;
  • Provide project orientation, e.g. protocols, objectives and outcomes, expectations and recommend methods and processes based on research, comparisons and evaluations and clearly outlined options for project implementation;
  • Foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and key community based organizations;
  • Oversee contracted services;
  • Monitor grant deliverables, timeline, and schedule check-in meetings;
  • Manage the collection and input of data and photos into project database as required to track project deliverables;
  • Share data and project progress with evaluator;
  • Process required forms for purchasing, personnel, inventory, etc that workgroups and others may need;
  • Prepare written correspondence and meeting materials;
  • Prepare or assist with presentations and collateral materials for special projects and other efforts to increase resources and support;
  • Prepare interim and final program and grant reports;
  • Attend monthly staff meetings with administration and conduct regularly staff meetings;
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and counsel assigned employees in their areas of assignment and ensure their compliance with policies and procedures;
  • Screen grant opportunities, collaborate with PIDF leadership team, and participate in grant writing process including editing, assembling application packages if needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm or as determined by the supervisor;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
  • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and remote setting;
  • Traveling in personal vehicle to and from program sites;
  • Travel to the continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use:

Personal vehicle, computer and laptop, office and/or work cell phone/Bluetooth, printer, scanner, copier, fax machine.

Physical:

  • Must be able to sit and work on the computer for majority of work day;
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.

Communication:

  • Exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required;
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, management, or related field and five (5) years of experience in program management required;
  • At least three (3) years of experience in supervision required;
  • At least three (3) years of experience of workforce development required;
  • Must have strong knowledge of positive youth development practices;
  • Strong understanding of Native Hawaiian culture and values is preferred;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily collision per person and $25K in property damage liability.
