Website Designer

Are you looking to employ your expertise in web design working alongside a dynamic team to combat climate change through cutting-edge technology?

What you will be doing:

Our multidisciplinary Brand Team is looking for an innovative, collaborative, and creative Website Designer. In this role you will be responsible for designing, creating, and executing visual elements/layouts that help to shape PassiveLogic’s online presence, supporting our marketing and engineering teams, including the office of the CEO. As a part of the Brand Team, you will work alongside fellow creatives, leadership, and neighboring departments to interpret and translate technical concepts into visual storytelling mediums for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an engaging website with a strategic layout that caters to a variety of audiences
  • Develop wireframes, sitemaps, flow diagrams, and low-to-high fidelity website mockups
  • Collaborate closely with the Brand team and Design team to craft a strong narrative for the PassiveLogic website
  • Help maintain a clean hygiene of the library of graphics, illustrations, icons, etc. that can be used across audiences and media to communicate about our company and products
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and neighboring departments to enhance and update site structure, page construction, and SEO (search engine optimization).

You must have

  • B.S. or B.A. in Web Design, New Media Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, UI/UX, or similar field
  • 3 years of work experience in website/digital design or a similar role
  • Professional experience with a range of digital design applications including Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), Affinity Designer, Sketch, Canva, etc.)
  • Strong ability to self-drive and self-manage
  • Strong desire for continued learning and open-mindedness to explore new software
  • Ability to develop, follow, and apply a consistent design language throughout multiple different projects.
  • Ability to work closely with both back-end & front-end developers as well as the marketing and product management teams
  • Openness to participate in a feedback-based work process to guide improvements and drive growth
  • A portfolio that showcases your ability to execute a consistent design language, showcases your design skill & style (graphic, 2D/3D, digital, art, etc), and includes examples from websites you've designed and developed
  • A collaborative written, verbal, and interpersonal communication style

You should have

      • Experience providing graphic design and illustration support for other marketing and internal communications materials. This includes conceptualizing, developing, and delivering 2D graphics.
      • Experience with web development technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, & Javascript)
      • Experience working on multiple projects from start to finish, in a deadline-driven environment
      • Strong understanding of layout, navigation, typography, colors, and image composition as applied to web and mobile experiences
      • Strong interest/knowledge base in website analytics
      • Experience using Blocs Website Builder or similar tools
      • The ability to interpret complex technological concepts into broadly comprehensible and engaging stories for a wide audience
      • High level of attention to detail ensuring the best user experience at every digital touchpoint.
      • Experience/familiarity with using Zendesk or other cloud-based customer service platforms
      • Strong ability to problem-solve

      It’s helpful to have

      • Interest in human-centered design, sustainability, impact, green building
      • Domain experience in HVAC, building controls, graphic design for equipment manufacturers, etc.
      • Experience using UX design software (Sketch, Figma, Omnigraffle, Pixelmator, React, Angular, or Ember, etc)
      • Experience with Keyshot or similar software
      • Experience with Inventor/Solidworks or other 3D modeling software
      • Experience with Apple Motion/After Effects or similar software
      • Experience with MailerLite and other email marketing tools
      • Startup experience
      • A strong familiarity with MacOS
